15.08.2019: historical background & international monitoring strategy by Director WGMS, status reports on national implementation by NCs
16.08.2019: GTN-G Mid-term Evaluation with (i) presentation of last evaluation report and (ii) related progress as well as discussion of future developments with respect to (iii) the continuation of in-situ measurements, (iv) opportunities and challenges of regional glacier change assessments from remote sensing, and (v) database management & infrastructure.
17.08.2019: excursion & public outreach (8 am – 6 pm), departure

This meeting is on invitation only for WGMS National Correspondents (NCs) and representatives from partner organisations. All participants need to register with an indication of arrival and departure dates (and documents for travel grant applications, if needed) until 31st of March 2019 here:

Travel grants
The WGMS has limited funds available for travel grants, mainly for NCs from the Global South. Applications need to be handed in with the registration and must include (a) a travel itinerary with indicated costs and (b) an explanatory statement from the home institution’s Director declaring the lack of funding.

Visa requirements
Participants are responsible for their visa applications.

The reservation and payment of the accommodation is in the responsibility of the participants. Zurich has a wide range of hotels and hostels. As such, we can recommend the following:
