Glacier and climate monitoring at Abramov glacier and in the Tien Shan mountains resumed, summer 2011
In the former Soviet Union, one of the longest mass-balance data series was reported from Abramov Glacier with continuous measurements from 1968 until 1998. In late summer 2011, the measurement series in the Pamir Altai was resumed by scientists from Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland within the projects CAWA and CATCOS. Also, measurement at Golubin Glacier were resumed in 2010.
